ABOUT THIS EVENT

On Saturday, November 11th, catch The Empties and Charlie Houston at the Dakota Tavern. The Empties – a funky 6-piece married to the groove – and Charlie Houston – a pop-powerhouse with the voice of an angel – are frequent collaborators in the Toronto music scene. These rising local talents plan to make it a night to remember in Toronto, so don't miss out!

THE EMPTIES:

The Empties began when members Zeke Wilson (vocals), Ethan Flanagan (lead guitar), Ben Hagedoorn (guitar/vocals), Nic Pagé (bass), Lee Moore (keys), and Noah Cummins (drums) joined musical forces in the small but artistically-vibrant city of Kingston, Ontario. The first EP from the group, 'Beyond the Cover' (2022), showcased their genre-fluid sound while capturing the nostalgic feel of the small home studio where it was produced. The 6-piece, now living under the same roof in Toronto, continues to write for their upcoming album following the release of their recent singles, 'Wallflower' and 'Broke Down Van'.

CHARLIE HOUSTON:

Charlie Houston is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter whose "contemporary R&B-inflected pop straightforwardly addresses the meaningful mundanities of Gen Z life" (Bandcamp). Her new EP, titled 'Bad Posture', follows her smash collaborative single with Grammy-nominated ODESZA and her own genre-bending EP, 'I Hate Spring', which received praise from Zane Lowe, Rolling Stone, and SPIN Magazine while landing a Spotify TImes Square Billboard. WIth the release of 'Bad Posture', Houston has just finished a North American stadium tour with ODESZA and joined JUNO Award Artist Of The Year Charlotte Cardin for her final leg of her cross Canada tour. Currently, Charlie is in the studio working on her debut record.
